Tuesday 2nd August Weather forecast for the Western Isles.

Good evening Western Isles on this Monday evening we are seeing rain moving across the Western Isles this is heavy in places. Winds gusting 30 mph and today’s high 17.1C

South Uist range has already recorded 5mm of rain today

Low pressure will dominate our weather on Tuesday as shown by the surface pressure chart from the Met Office

Overnight – A cloud dominated night with spells of rain and drizzle Heavy at times with some mist and fog. Winds of 20 to 40 mph

Morning and afternoon – It’s going to be an unsettled day with spells of rain and showers. Drizzle at times with some sunny spells in the breaks in the cloud. Winds of 20 to 40 mph.

Evening – Again some dry spells but further rain and showers with some drizzle at times. A few sunny spells. Winds of 20 to 40 mph.

Winds will be from the South West. Temps of 12C to 17C

Wednesday – Sunshine and showers with plenty of cloud. Winds easing under 20 mph by the end of the day. Temps of 8C to 16C

Thursday – Despite high pressure building in we are going to see further unsettled weather to end the week.

We are going to see a day of sunshine and showers heavy at times from the North West. Winds of 10 to 30 mph. Temps of 8C to 14C

Friday and Saturday – high pressure sites well to our South West but spells of rain and showers will feed across the islands.

So we will see further spells of rain and showers heavy at times. Winds increasing again gusting 20 to 40 mph. Temps of 8C to 13C
