Good evening Western Isles on this Tuesday evening we are seeing plenty of cloud with some sunny spells. Rain and showers heavy with some mist and low cloud. Winds gusting 40 mph and today’s high of 18.4C
It has been a consistently windy day across our islands. Winds haven’t gotten above 40 mph but they haven’t eased all day at both Stornoway Airport and South Uist Met Office sites

Overnight – We are going to see spells of rain moving across the islands this will be heavy at times. Plenty of cloud with spells of drizzle at times. Winds of 20 to 40 mph.
Morning and afternoon – Sunshine and cloud with some scattered showers. Some lingering morning heavy rain. Still plenty of cloud with some decent spells of sunshine. Winds will ease. Winds under 20 mph.
Evening – Showers will increase in frequency but at times merging into some longer spells of rain. In between some decent spells of sunshine. Winds under 20 mph.

High pressure continues to build towards the end of the week across our islands but it will stay unsettled with further spells of rain and showers but lighter winds. Below is the Met Office chart showing high pressure building in.
Thursday – We are going to see a day of sunshine and showers these will be heavy at times. Winds under 20 mph from the West and North West. Temps of 8C to 15C
Friday – Sunshine and scattered showers. Heavy at times. Some decent and prolonged sunshine at times. Winds of 10 to 30 mph. Temps of 11C to 15C
Saturday – Rain and showers heavy at times. Some sunny spells. Winds of 20 to 40 mph from the South West. Temps of 12C to 18C
Sunday – Sunshine and cloud with brisk winds. Feeling warm. Mainly dry. Winds of 10 to 30 mph. Temps of 12C to 17C
