Good evening Western Isles on this Friday evening we are seeing plenty of cloud with some rain and drizzle. Some clear spells. Winds gusting 25 mph and today’s high of 14.9C
We are going to see winds strengthening on Saturday with a frontal system moving across the islands. The strongest winds are likely across Lewis and Harris with gusts reaching 45 mph. The chart below comes from the Met Office UKV model and the image from the weather outlook.
Overnight – We are going to see plenty of cloud with spells of rain and drizzle this heavy at times. Winds of 10 to 30 mph.
Morning and afternoon – Plenty of cloud with some dry spells but further rain and drizzle at times becoming heavier in the later afternoon. Some sunny spells but largely overcast. Winds of 20 to 40 mph.
Evening – Overcast with further spells of rain and showers. Heaviest for Lewis and Harris drier for Uist and Barra. A few sunny spells. Winds of 20 to 45 mph.
Winds will be from the South West. Temps of 12C to 17C

Tuesday – A few days off as yet but it’s been showing on a number of forecast model runs in a row so keeping an eye on it. But a deep area of low pressure will push close to Iceland and could see winds gusting 50 mph for a time. This chart below again from the Met Office UKV and the weather outlook website.
So Tuesday would be an overcast day with spells of rain and drizzle with winds gusting 40 to possibly 50 mph. Temps of 12C to 17C
Wednesday – More of the same with brisk winds gusting 20 to 40 mph overcast and spells of rain and drizzle. Temps of 12 to 19C
