Good evening Western Isles on this Saturday evening we are seeing a mixture of sunshine and cloud with light winds. Some mist and fog. When the mist and fog cleared today we witnessed some of the highest temperatures of the year. South Uist range recorded 19.5C at the Met Office both Barra and Benbecula Airports recorded 20C temps.

So the Met Office yellow weather warning for Thundetorms for Scotland for Sunday has been updated. The Western Isles remains outside the warning. But worth keeping in mind if you are travelling to and from the mainland that there could be some severe storms. Below is the Met Office warning
Overnight – We are going to see an overcast night with some patchy rain and drizzle but for most, it should be dry. Some mist and fog patches. Winds under 20 mph.
Morning, afternoon and evening – Overcast with some sunshine at times but for most staying cloudy. Some mist and fog with occasional light rain and drizzle. The odd shower cannot be ruled out and again this could be thundery but the risk is low. Winds under 20 mph.
Winds will be from the North and North East. Temps of 12C to 17C

Into the new week and there really isn’t much change and the weather will turn more mobile towards the end of the week with more rain and winds. Weather fronts still linger on Monday as shown by the Met Office surface pressure chart.
Monday – Overcast with some rain and drizzle. Mist and low cloud in patches. Winds under 20 mph. Temps of 12C to 15C
Tuesday – We are going to see overcast conditions with some rain and drizzle along with brisk winds of 20 to 40 mph. Temps of 10C to 15C
Wednesday – Winds slowly ease with plenty of cloud clearing to sunshine later. Temps of 10C to 13C
Thursday – Overcast with spells of rain heavy at times. Winds of 10 to 30 mph. Temps of 12C to 16C
