Tuesday 13th September forecast for the Western Isles

Good evening Western isles on this Monday evening we are seeing plenty of cloud with some rain and drizzle. Low cloud with some clear skies. Winds gusting 30 mph. Today’s high of 15.3C

We had some thunderstorm activity across North Lewis this morning and was picked up by Netweather lightning dector as highlighted below.


For Tuesday across Scotland high pressure is expected to build in further but a weather front is expected to move in later in the day. We are still under a North Westerly wind. This is highlighted by the Met Office surface pressure chart below.

Overnight – A cloud dominating night with some rain and drizzle. Plenty of cloud. With some clear spells. Winds of 10 to 30 mph.

Morning and afternoon – Sunshine and cloud with some rain and showers. Fairly well scattered with some drizzle at times. Some decent and prolonged sunshine at times. Winds of 10 to 25 mph.

Evening – The cloud will increase across the Western Isles with some rain and drizzle. Some sunshine before sunset. Winds under 20 mph.

Winds will be from the West and North West. Temps of 8C to 15C

Wednesday and Thursday – Sunshine and cloud with a few scattered showers. Slowly turning cooler towards the end of Thursday. Winds of 10 to 30 mph. Temps of 9C to 15C

BBC Weather has highlighted how things will turn cooler then average on Friday

Friday – A mixture of sunshine and cloud with light winds from the North. Feeling cool and temps of 7C to 14C

Saturday – Sunshine and showers heavy at times. Winds under 20 mph from the North West. Temps of 8C to 15C
