Monday’s forecast – Becoming milder

Good evening Western Isles on this Sunday evening we are seeing a mainly fine and dry end to the day with some light rain and drizzle. The cloud is dominating with some clear spells. Winds under 20 mph and today’s high of 14.3C

Sunday’s weather was dominated by cloud with low cloud at times. Further spells of rain and drizzle with the highest rainfall totals being a couple of mm. The rut pattern we have been in the last few days will become more mobile during the coming week. More on that below.

For Monday high pressure will gradually start to move away Eastwards allowing frontal systems to creep in from the West. A warm front is expected to move across the islands during the night on Monday and the start of the more mobile conditions.

Overnight – An overcast night with some clear spells. Winds under 20 mph, Some light rain and drizzle. Some heavier rain for Barra and South Uist.

Morning and afternoon – Overcast with light rain and drizzle at times. This will be heavy in places. For most, it will stay dry. Some sunny spells. Winds under 20 mph.

Overnight – A cloud dominated evening with some light rain and drizzle. Some sunny spells before sunset. Winds will start to increase 10 to 30 mph.

Winds will be from the South and South West. Temps of 12C to 16C

Outlook

Tuesday – An overcast day with spells of rain and drizzle. Winds of 10 to 30 mph from the South West. Temps of 12C to 16C

Wednesday – Showery with spells of heavy rain moving in during in the evening which could be persistent for a time. Winds of 20 to 40 mph gusting 50 mph. Temps of 12C to 16C

Thursday and Friday – Sunshine and showers these will be heavy at times. Winds will be from the South West and temps of 12C to 16C but turning Northerly late Friday
