Saturdays forecast – Sunshine and showers

Good morning Western Isles we are seeing heavy rain slowly clearing away from the islands. Plenty of cloud with showers. Winds gusting 40 mph. Some thundery showers overnight and an overnight low of 7.3C. Yesterday’s high of 11.3C

For Saturday we are seeing a small area of low pressure across the islands and this has brought heavy overnight rain once that clears we are going to see further rain and showers with blustery winds.

Today – So we are going to see a day of sunshine and showers. Some decent spells of sunshine. The heaviest of the rain will clear away this morning. We will see some decent dry spells in between the showers. A few of the showers will be thundery. Winds of 10 to 30 mph from the West and South West. Temps of 6C to 11C

Sunday – Overnight spells of rain heavy at times. Winds of 20 to 40 mph strongest for Uist and Barra. Sunshine and cloud with scattered showers. It will be a chilly start to the day with temps down to 5C. Winds will be from variable directions and temps of 5C to 12C

Monday – Heavy overnight rain with winds gusting 40 to 50 mph. Then sunshine and showers these will be heavy at times. Winds gusting 30 mph. Winds will be from the East shifting North West. Temps of 7C to 13C

Tuesday – High pressure builds in so a fine and dry day with sunshine and cloud with light winds. Winds under 20 mph from the North and North East. Temps of 7C to 12C
