The week ahead forecast for the Western Isles 16th October 2022

Good afternoon Western Isles and welcome to your latest weather forecast for the Western Isles. We are going to look at the forecast for the week ahead and next weekend.

The start of the new week will see an area of low pressure bringing rain and stronger winds. Settling down for the middle of the week before areas of low pressure turn conditions more unsettled in the latter half of the week before again settling over the course of next weekend. So a real mixed bag of a forecast. We are going to break down each day.

Monday

An area of low pressure will move over the Western Isles on Monday. The strongest winds will be for Ireland where they could see winds gusting 60 mph. For us in the Western Isles by the time in reaches us winds will be no more than 40 mph. Heavy rainfall again from this system with another 10 mm likely for most. Below is a tweet showing the area of low pressure from a few hours ago as it moves past Ireland

So for Monday, we will see heavy overnight rain and this will last into the morning before clearing to sunshine and showers for the afternoon and evening. The showers will eventually become more scattered. Some decent spells of sunshine in the breaks in the cloud. Winds overnight will gust to 40 mph. Then we will see winds of 10 to 30 mph from the East and North East shifting North West later. Temps of 6C to 12C
