Fridays – More rain and wind

Good evening Western Isles on this Thursday evening we are seeing rain and strong winds moving across the islands with plenty of cloud. Winds gusting 60 mph strongest for Uist and Barra. Today’s high of 10.4C

A reminder a Scottish Environment Protection Agency flood alert is in force for the Western Isles and 5 flood warnings for Stornoway, North ford and Berneray Causeway, Balshare and Ardmore to Loch Carnan. The latest can be found via the SEPA website.

Friday – Overnight clear skies and cloud with squally showers these heavy at times. Into Friday sunshine and showers this squally at times. Wintry and thundery in places. Winds of 20 to 40 mph gusting 50 mph with some gusts reaching 60 mph. Temps of 7C to 11C feeling colder in the wind chill.

Saturday – Heavy rain at times with winds gusting 40 to 50 mph with some stronger winds gusting 60 mph. Temps of 8C to 12C

Sunday – Sunshine and showers with winds gusting 20 to 40 mph some gusts reaching 50 mph. Temps of 6C to 11C

Monday – Sunshine and scattered showers. Winds of 20 to 40 mph. Temps of 5C to 10C

Tuesday – High pressure starts to build in winds start to ease under 20 mph. Turning colder with a few wintry showers but mainly dry. Temps of 6C to 10C
